Athletic Teams

ST. FRANCIS UPPER AND LOWER MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS

The Lower & Upper Middle School Teams compete in the Austin Inter-Parochial League (AIPL).  While participation is voluntary, approximately 70% of the the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth student body participates in any given year.  All students who wish to play are accepted on a team. At the beginning of each season, students try out and are placed on a team.  A variety of different levels of competition exist to meet the different abilities of the athletes.

St. Francis School competes in the following AIPL sports:

P.E.

Lower & Upper Middle School Students who elect not to participate on an athletics team attend Physical Education Classes also known as “Sports Electives" twice a week.  These classes are designed to expose its students to as many enjoyable physical activities as possible and take place in the SFS Gym, on the SFS Field/Track, or in one of the classrooms in the school.  The Sports Electives include baseball, fun and games, ultimate, walking, and yoga.  Sports Electives are lead by various St. Francis Teachers.  Pre K through 4th grades will participate in physical education classes twice a week taught by Telisa Young and Julio Valtierrez.
